On Thursday (January 26) night, a group of 9-10 Islamists disrupted the Saraswati Puja and vandalised the idol of the Goddess after being told not to click pictures and videos.
Earlier this month, the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance informed that a total of 154 religious minorities, including Hindus, were killed in the country between January and December 2022.
The killers came on a bike in Bellari, Dakshina Kannada of Karnataka, in the late evening and attacked Nettaru with sharp weapons. The assailants escaped after the attack. Nettaru was rushed to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

UK-based Islamic preacher Ali Dawah was heard baying for the blood of an ex-Muslim and apostate named Ridvan Aydemir, who runs the popular YouTube channel ‘The Apostate Prophet.’ It must be mentioned that Ali Dawah was the frontrunner in peddling the conspiracy theory about RSS’ involvement in the 2022 Leicester violence.
A Dhaka tribunal today sentenced Mohammad Iqbal Hossain to 16 months in jail in a case filed for placing the Holy Quran at the Nanua Dighir Par puja mandap in Cumilla on October 13, 2021 and hurting people’s religious sentiments.
Intimidating anonymous letters have been sent to Hindu temples around the country, warning them that “idolatry is worse than carnage”.
“Islam teaches that God does not share His divine attributes with anyone”, the letters continue, among several passages quoted from the Quran, Islam’s holy book.
The letters began arriving last week, and police were immediately contacted, Multicultural New Zealand national office head of operations Gurtej Singh said.
