OTT has become a bone of contention in Bharat. The Bharatiya movie industry has a censor board that oversees the kind of content that gets on the cinema screen. No matter how flawed the censoring procedure might be, it still exists. But no such mechanism currently exists for regulating OTT content. This has led to an alarming rise in content depicting nudity, violence, sex, and perversion. We have discussed in detail in previous articles how the OTT web series are increasingly not just becoming anti-Hindu but also distorting the Bharatiya middle-class family structure and its values.
Our research finds that Britain’s exploitative policies were associated with approximately 100 million excess deaths during the 1881-1920 period. This is a straightforward case for reparations, with strong precedent in international law. Following World War II, Germany signed reparations agreements to compensate the victims of the Holocaust and more recently agreed to pay reparations to Namibia for colonial crimes perpetrated there in the early 1900s. In the wake of apartheid, South Africa paid reparations to people who had been terrorised by the white-minority government.
Mohammed Hijab, for example, who declared at a pro-Palestine rally in 2021 that “we love death” and rallied the crowds in Leicester with anti-Hindu slurs, referring to them as “violent vegetarians” and declaring he was leading a Muslim patrol, was interviewed on Channel 4.
Manoj Kumar, A priest, who had been missing for the last couple of days, was shot dead and his eyes gouged out and genitals chopped off in Bihar’s Gopalganj district on Saturday, police said. The incident triggered clashes between the locals and the police, during which two police officials suffered minor injuries.
A spate of attacks on Hindu temples in the US state of Texas and Australia’s Melbourne has triggered concerns among the Indian community living abroad, even as authorities probe for any possible hate crime. The first incident took place at Shri Omkarnath Temple in the Brazos Valley, Texas, on January 11, KBTX-TV reported on Friday.
According to reports, the temple was raided by burglars who stole some of the valuables from the premises, leaving the Indian community in a state of shock.
When asked by the media what assurances he gave PM Modi about protection of Hindu temples in Australia, he said,”I told him that Australia is a country that respects people’s faith, that we don’t tolerate the sort of extreme actions and attacks that we’ve seen on religious buildings, be they Hindu temples, mosques, synagogues, or churches.”
