UK Minister for Local Government, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Lee Rowley on Monday said “anti-Hindu hatred is abhorrent and has no place in our communities”.
He said the UK government is working with the police and community partners to monitor and combat it.
Mr Rowley was responding to a question by UK Member of Parliament Navendu Mishra.

The Yorkshire event is described as the biggest of its kind in the UK, featuring a host of performers throughout the day.
Another investigation by the US-based Network Contagion Research Institute said that “malicious online narratives”, “ethnic hatred” and false reports by Muslims—child kidnapping and attacks on a local mosque—led to unprecedented violence. It also pointed out the role played by supporters of terror organisations Al Qaeda and ISIS in amplifying false information that led to unrest against the Hindus.
Most of these social media claims were found to be false by the local police.
According to Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Twitter handle, Disinfo Lab, the report placed reliance on organisations such as the Federation of Indian Christian Organization in North America (FIACONA), United Christian Forum, Open Doors USA, Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI), International Christian Concern and Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) to allege atrocities on religious minorities in the country.
