New Delhi, 7th September 2023: The “divide and rule” policy, also known as “divide and conquer, was a strategy employed by the
British colonial administration in various parts of their empire, including India. The goal of this policy was to maintain control over a
diverse and often restive population by creating divisions and conflicts among different groups, thereby weakening any unified
opposition to British rule.
Here are some of the ways the British implemented this policy:
Talking to reporters, Mayor Pandey claimed that the temples, which were once integral to the community, have either been encroached or fallen into disrepair. “Decades ago, this area was home to more than 100 temples—one after every ten houses. Today, they are nowhere to be seen. Even idols are missing, and the temples are either dilapidated or occupied,” she added.
Majid Freeman has become a topic of discussion since he openly came out to support the Islamists attacking Hindus in the United Kingdom. He spread fake news about the anti-Hindu clashes in Leicester and instigated Muslim youth against the Hindu community.
“Cow piss drinkers”, “violent vegetarians”, “BJP terrorists”, were but a few of the slurs that came to be associated with the unrest. The slurs denigrated the Hindu faith and attached British Hindus to political affairs in India. Indeed, what we saw in Leicester comes straight from the anti-Semitism playbook.
UK Minister for Local Government, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Lee Rowley on Monday said “anti-Hindu hatred is abhorrent and has no place in our communities”.
He said the UK government is working with the police and community partners to monitor and combat it.
Mr Rowley was responding to a question by UK Member of Parliament Navendu Mishra.
Local Hindus have alleged that the panchayat passed a resolution in the name of the temple of Gidhamadi Mataji, received the grant, and used it to build a Christian place. The temple of the goddess was demolished and its broken remains were also found.
